Monday Giveaway

Hello! Today's "Monday Giveaway" is bling themed...a little baggie of sequins and jewels, some Premier Jewelry Cleaner (brand new!), and little jar of Martha Stewart glitter (lately, I'm glittering everything...), and a blinged-out barrette.

If you'd like to enter, just leave your name and email (and perhaps your favorite indoor plant) in the comments section. (The indoor plant part is optional =D)

Cards, A Layout & Strawberries

Here's a couple new cards I made in the spirit of spring and pastel-y colors! Although it's storming outside today (and chilly), the past couple of weeks have been very springy-perfect...not too hot or cold...
This is an older layout that I don't think I ever posted on my blog about my Mom. She hates these pictures, but I think they're cute. Love you, Mama! =)
And since I'm posting about my mom, it's only fair (due to the Equal Opportunity to Praise Mothers Act ;) ) to say THANKS to my MIL, for these awesome strawberries that I have enjoyed greatly (devoured).
Have a wonderful weekend!!

Google Reader...

So I finally condensed my blog readings into Google Reader and um, it is so easy!! I have been procrastinating because well, it sounded scary, but it seriously took ten minutes and was easy-peasy!!

Basically, if you have Gmail (which I do!), there is a bar of links of the very top left (Gmail, Calendar, Documents...). If you click on the "Reader" Link, you will see a little blue plus sign box that says "Add a Subscription." Find the names of the blogs you follow, and just keep adding until you are satisfied. This actually works with Etsy shops too (for getting updates on when new stuff is added). Then, whenever you want to check blogs, you don't have to type in all the URLs, just check your GoogleReader!

Crepe Paper Ruffles...

Another reason, I love crepe paper...ruffles. Here I just went along the edges of the photo and taped the crepe paper to the backside of the picture. I then just dribbled a little glue along the front edges of the photo and sprinkled glitter all over it. Added a few accents and voila!

(Supplies used: Making Memories specialty paper - Michaels, DCWV black letters - Hobby Lobby, Heidi Swapp blue chipboard letters - HeidiSwapp.com, Making Memories glitter polka dot paper - TwoPeasinaBucket.com, K Marcella butterflies - Target, Making Memories buttons, Martha Stewart glitter, Crepe Paper)

Happy Thursday!

Crazy Crayons: How To & Lessons Learned

Step 1: Buy some cheap crayons (these were like 40 cents) or use some old ones you already have.

Step 2: Get to peelin'. This is the toughest part. Takes a few minutes.
Step 3: Break these up into small chunks (usually 3-4 breaks per crayon)
Step 4: Place chunks into oven safe container of your choice. Lesson Learned: I used a metal Christmas tree pan and getting them out with all the delicate edges was tough. I would recommend silicone pans as they are bendable. If you use a silicone pan, it'd probably be best to place it on a cookie sheet for stability when moving it in and out of the oven.

Step 5: Heat in oven at around 350 for 8-10 minutes (until completely melted).

Step 6: Carefully remove from oven. Let cool. Lesson Learned: Avoid unnecessary jiggling and place in a out of the way place to cool. Melty crayon splashes from accidental bumps and nudges are hard to get up once they dry all over your pan and counter.

Step 7: After totally cooled and hardened, pop them out and color the day away!

Crepe Paper & Mini Albums

So, I know I have promised oh-so-many pictures, crafty ideas, etc.

Here is a teeny glimpse of a mini-album I made for a friend. I got this little album (it's really small, like 3x5ish size, at World Market for $1.50. It has quite a few pages with tons of index size pictures of special people, here is one of the two page spreads without pictures (for privacy's sake!)
I packaged it in this cute little tin and prettied it up with some crepe paper posies. Sweet & fun, wrapped up in one! More to come soon! DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT MONDAY'S (3/16) GIVEAWAY...ENDS SUNDAY AT MIDNIGHT!!!

$8 Dollar Prescription Glasses

What?! Yes, it's true. This site offers prescription glasses at a mere $8, with flat-rate 4.95 shipping. I ordered three new pairs (below being my favorite) and was THRILLED with the results. The total order for three pairs of glasses + shipping = 28.95. WHOA! If you need glasses, or want to try out a new style, this is the way to go. They even package it in a cute little blue glasses case with a glass cleaning rag...so cute!

P.S. Thanks to Ariel for my beautiful (and most favoritest) scarf! I heart it.

Cards Galore...

Some quick & easy cards...

This past Sunday was my Daddy's birthday. I am unbelievably thankful to God for my Dad to still be allowed here with us this year. Last June, he had a heart attack at the age of 44, with no weight condition or any other health condition known to him. After the heart attack, we found out that he carries the gene that is prone to heart attacks. My Dad is a Godly man and I know that only God could have seen and known the heart attack coming, only God could have been there for my family during those moments when we didn't know what was going to happen. As we celebrate the passing of another year of his life, we were all reminded of what could have been. God is so very good.
